Platinum Wedding Rings - Choosing the Right
One
By Harry Bernstein
It's important that when choosing your
wedding rings, they complement the engagement ring you bought
for your partner. Although you want a platinum wedding ring to
look good with the engagement ring, you do not want it to
overshadow the ring so it is worthwhile trying out a variety to
see which one suits the engagement ring most. Why do we have
wedding rings? Well it is to show a commitment between a couple
that is symbolized by their use. There are a number of customs
where presenting gifts to the engaged couple is quite normal
and only ends when the rings are finally given with the
vows.
A more modern approach to this custom is the bestowing of an
eternity ring to the bride as the last gift. It is now becoming
more popular to have them engraved, so if you and your partner
are buying matching examples, why not have them both engraved
with a message personal to you both just to give them that
unique feel. Some people bored with plain bands, have their
platinum wedding rings engraved around the edges just to give
them that individual touch. To be honest it is difficult to go
wrong if you both decide on the rings you like because
ultimately it is your choice.
You must never forget how important this is
and unlike any another piece of jewelry as it will not often
leave your finger. It is not worth trying to find the cheapest
you can because it will undermine their importance. In light of
this, if you are considering purchasing your wedding rings
because you are able to buy them inexpensively, you may find
that over the years they will lose their significance. Platinum
wedding rings will be expensive anyway ad being a hard metal,
it should last; however, they really need to fit well otherwise
they will not look their best.
Having your fingers measured for the rings
can be done when you choose the style you want; this will
ensure there isn't a problem later on. Ensuring the fit is good
saves the embarrassment of either the wedding ring not fitting
over the finger or of it falling off because it is too loose.
Adjustments aren't usually done ‘over the counter' so allow
plenty of time for them to be adjusted before the big day. As
there may be other work to be carried out on your platinum
wedding rings in addition to size adjustments, give the jeweler
at least two months to get the work done.
Don't forget there are now a wide range of
styles for you to choose from and it may take you a while to
choose. Whilst it is always nice to be fashionable; when
choosing your platinum wedding rings you need to consider
whether it is comfortable and will stand the test of time as
far as looks are concerned. You should love the rings you buy
and if you have chosen well, this will still be the same years
in the future.
Having an extensive choice of styles and
designs is good but it can take quite some time to choose which
suits you and your partner the best. Your platinum wedding
rings should stand the test of time so they should not be
designs which are the height of current fashion if you want
them to stay looking good. You should love the rings you buy
and if you have chosen well, this will still be the same years
in the future.
